Easy tips to drink more water

We all know that water is healthy! During the busy work week, I sometimes find it a challenge to drink enough. Looking for easy tips to drink more water? I would like to share with you my inspiration to stay well hydrated throughout the day and after exercise and to pimp your glass of water with an original and sustainable touch, cheers!

My feel-good ritual

Rise ’n shine baby! The morning is for me the ideal me-time moment of the day, I am not a snoozer and like to start my day early with a fresh mind. My feel-good ritual? A glass of warm water with unfiltered apple cider vinegar or lemon juice. When I come home from our walk with Billy, I like to make something heartwarming to drink, like this ginger-turmeric infusion or fresh hibiscus tea with apple, orange, and cinnamon. Also lovely to relax in the evening… I am really a mega fan of my super handy and versatile Quooker tap: just water, cooled drinking water, sparkling water, boiling water… always water at hand to quickly fix something you feel like!

Tips to easily drink throughout the day

Water is life and important to feel good in your skin! Making small adjustments to your daily drinking and eating habits can sometimes yield significant health benefits! It is recommended to rely on your thirst and then drink directly until you are well satisfied. That may seem like a lot, but for your body, it is the best way to absorb moisture. So I do not drink small amounts while exercising, but rather all at once after exercising. Listening to your thirst can be learned! 1.5 liters of water per day is just a general recommendation, your needs may vary. After exercising, you need more water to stay hydrated than during a less intensive activity.

Other practical tips:
  • Place your water bottle or glass directly in your line of sight or within reach;
  • Opt for a smaller water bottle that empties faster, as this motivates you to drink more;
  • Treat yourself to the most beautiful water bottle that instantly makes you happy;
  • Always take a drink with you on the go;
  • Always use a water carafe when setting the table;
  • Warm or cold water doesn't matter, do what feels good for you;
  • With a straw, you drink more;
    (ecological alternatives in cardboard, bamboo, glass, or metal)
  • Make funky ice cubes with pieces of fruit, fresh herbs, or edible flowers;
  • Choose foods that contain a lot of water, such as cucumber, lettuce, watermelon, tomato, zucchini, ...
  • Feel free to vary in between with other water-rich recipes, such as soup.
