200 ml honey
2 long red or soft yellow chili peppers (finely chopped)
optional: ½ tsp dried chili flakes

Preparation method

How do you make this?

Finely chop the chili peppers . The finer they are, the more flavor they release.

Combine the honey with the chopped chili peppers in a saucepan. Optionally add the chili flakes for extra heat.

Gently heat until just below boiling. Let it simmer for about one minute and make sure it doesn't boil too hard.

Remove from heat and let it cool completely.

. Pour the hot honey into a clean, sterilized jar. Store in a cool, dark place or in the refrigerator.

Tips

  • Use soft yellow chilies if you prefer it milder.
  • Let the hot honey steep for at least a few hours before using it, this will intensify the flavor.
  • Also delicious over roasted vegetables, pizza, or chicken.
  • Craving an extra smoky flavor? Add some smoked paprika powder to it.
