Creamy Dirty Iced Matcha Latte

A Dirty Matcha is basically a matcha latte to which you add a shot of coffee to make it nice and dirty – but in a positive way! You can drink it warm or on ice. I make a creamy Dirty Matcha Latte where I whip the matcha with milk and a little cream for an extra creamy effect. Then everything goes on ice, with a shot of coffee of your choice on top. Really enjoyable! With my KitchenAid coffee machine I can really freewheel and personalize my coffee – think of flavor intensity, amount of water and strength. That makes the perfect moment of enjoyment even better. Especially in the afternoon, when I feel a little dip coming on, such a fresh Dirty Matcha is the ideal pick-me-up! Read along and I will show you step by step how to make a perfect Dirty Matcha. Let's go!

Preparation method

How do you make this?
  • Beat the matcha powder together with 15 milliliters of milk and 50 milliliters of cream. Use a matcha brush or a milk frother for a light, frothy effect.
  • Pour this creamy matcha base into the bottom of a tall glass.
  • Fill the glass three-quarters full with ice cubes.
  • Fill the milk reservoir with milk. Choose frothed milk.
  • Then add 80 milliliters of frothed milk or more.
  • Finally, choose your favorite shot of espresso or ristretto and slowly pour it over the ice and milk.
  • Stir briefly, insert a straw and enjoy the delicious interplay of flavors and the soft clinking of ice cubes.

Tips

  • For a completely plant-based variant, use both vegetable milk and vegetable cream.
  • Prefer something sweeter? Add a dash of vanilla or maple syrup to the milk before frothing.
