Take a nice glass and scoop a tablespoon of date caramel into it. Use the back of a spoon to create a beautiful swirl along the inside of the glass.
Heat the milk and lightly froth it. Pour the milk into the glass.
Brew a shot of espresso or ristretto and carefully pour it into the milk.
Whip the cream until it’s soft (semi-stiff) and mix in a tablespoon of date caramel.
Spoon the whipped cream on top of the coffee.
Finish with a sprinkle of cocoa powder. Serve immediately and enjoy!
Tips
- Make your own date caramel by mixing dates with a little water and a pinch of salt.
- For a lactose-free version you can use plant-based milk and coconut cream.
- Extra festive? Garnish with some coarse sea salt or chopped dates.
- Would you prefer less sweet? Use half a tablespoon of date caramel in the whipped cream.
- Serve in a nice glass so that the layers and swirl are clearly visible.
