Slow Dirty matcha latte

Easy

This is yet another slow coffee to enjoy in the morning, nice music on, a little book beside it. Absolutely no screens around. Just enjoying yourself, your pets, the sunshine, and letting all the flavors come in slowly. This dirty matcha latte I make in my moka pot, which already has a chill vibe! Delightfully soft with that lightly roasted coffee and the fullness of matcha. And yes, in the summer it is also delicious on ice.

Ingredients

What do you need?
Quantity: 1P

200 ml milk
1 tablespoon honey
2 teaspoons freshly ground coffee
1 teaspoon matcha powder

200 ml milk
1 tablespoon honey
2 teaspoons freshly ground coffee
1 teaspoon matcha powder

Leaf
Make it veggie!

This recipe is vegetarian. For a vegan version, use plant-based milk such as oat milk, almond milk, or soy milk and replace the honey with maple syrup or agave syrup.

Preparation method

How do you make this?

Fill the bottom chamber of your moka pot with milk.

Place the filter funnel and fill with freshly ground coffee. Level it nicely and make a small dimple in the center.

Spoon the matcha into the dimple.

Screw the moka pot tightly shut and place on medium heat.

After about 1 minute, the coffee will start to rise, and everything will mix into a creamy latte.

Remove from heat as soon as the bubbling stops. Pour into a cup and finish with honey to taste.

For an iced version, let the coffee cool down a bit and pour it over ice cubes.

Tips

  • Use quality matcha for the best flavor and color
  • If desired, stir the honey into the warm coffee beforehand so it dissolves nicely
  • Note that milk can scorch faster than water: do not use a heat that is too high
  • Also try with vanilla or a pinch of cinnamon
  • This latte is best enjoyed fresh
