Protein coffee

Easy

Every morning I start my day with my proteins, and I prefer to do it as simply as possible. As someone over fifty, I find it really important to get enough protein early in the day, and this protein coffee is my favorite way to do that. I use unflavored collagen peptides, because you can literally mix them into anything: hot coffee, tea, lemon water, coconut water... On a normal day, I keep it simple, but if I feel like making it a little easier for myself, I turn it into a cappuccino with some extra frothed milk. Enjoyable, but with added protein.

Make it veggie!

This recipe is already vegetarian. Please note: classic collagen peptides are animal-derived (usually from beef or fish), so for a vegan alternative, it's best to choose an unflavored plant-based protein powder.

Prepare your coffee as you usually drink it: just a cup of coffee, or an espresso as a base for a cappuccino.

Add the collagen peptides to the warm coffee.

Stir well until the peptides are completely dissolved; they are tasteless, so you won't notice them.

Do you want to make a bit more of your moment? Froth some milk and turn it into a cappuccino with extra milk foam.

Drink immediately, preferably as the first moment of your day.

Tips

  • I deliberately use unflavored collagen peptides so I can mix them into anything: coffee, tea, lemon water, or coconut water, always without altering the taste.
  • Add the peptides to a warm, but not boiling, liquid for best dissolution.
  • Not a coffee drinker? This works just as well in tea, lemon water, or coconut water.
