Ingredients

What do you need?

Quantity:

6 San Marzano tomatoes (large oval tomato)
2 tbsp brown sugar
4 tbsp white wine vinegar/apple cider vinegar/elderflower vinegar
1 tbsp tomato paste
2 cloves garlic sliced
1 chili pepper roughly chopped
1 stick of cinnamon
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 star anise
0.5 tbsp Tabasco
1 tbsp canola oil

2 tbsp brown sugar

1 tbsp tomato paste

1 chili pepper roughly chopped
1 stick of cinnamon
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 star anise
0.5 tbsp Tabasco
1 tbsp canola oil

Preparation method

How do you make this?

Cut the tomatoes into pieces.

Place them in a bowl together with the chili pepper, garlic, brown sugar, vinegar, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, Tabasco, canola oil, stick of cinnamon, and star anise.

Mix everything well.

Place the bowl in the BBQ and let simmer for 2 hours at 120°C.

After 2 hours, remove the mixture for the ketchup from the BBQ.

Take out the stick of cinnamon and star anise.

Put all other ingredients in a jar and blend everything until you have a smooth mixture.
