500 g macaroni
6 thick slices of ham
300 g freshly grated Emmental cheese
30 g butter
40 g flour
700 ml cold milk
Pepper and salt
Pinch of nutmeg
Block of Parmesan cheese

Preparation method

How do you make this?

Cut the ham into cubes.

Cook the macaroni according to the package instructions.

Melt the butter in a large pot and let it foam, add the flour all at once and let it cook for a moment until it lightly colors, pour in part of the milk, whisk vigorously to remove all lumps, season well with pepper, salt, and nutmeg if you like.

Pour in the rest of the milk and bring to a boil while stirring continuously, once it comes to a boil, stir in the cheese and pasta, then add the ham, mixing everything well together.

Generously finish with freshly grated Parmesan cheese.
