4 free-range eggs
8 round slices of farmhouse bread
4 slices of ham
400 g grated young cheese
Pepper and salt
Butter for frying

Garnish:
1 large tomato
1 cucumber
Fresh mayo

Preparation method

How do you make this?

Cut the tomatoes and cucumber and distribute them on the plates, add a dollop of mayo.

Place a layer of grated cheese on the 4 slices of bread, then the ham, and again grated cheese.

Place the 4 slices of bread on top and spread butter on the outside.

First, fry the eggs sunny side up with pepper from the mill and salt, be careful: the yolk should still be runny, set aside.

Heat a frying pan on the stove, place the croque with the butter side in the pan.

Let it fry for about 2 minutes so that the cheese melts, add butter to the pan and flip the croques, fry them for another 2 minutes on the other side.

Cut them in half and place them on the plate with the fried eggs on top.
