Discover how to make authentic Vietnamese Nuoc Cham Sauce at home. A perfect dipping sauce or dressing that adds a fresh, sweet-sour flavor.
3 tablespoons Fish sauce
0.5 fresh Thai Chili
2 tablespoons Cane sugar
6 tablespoons Warm Water
2-3 tablespoons Lime juice
1 clove Garlic
3 tablespoons Fish sauce
0.5 fresh Thai Chili
2 tablespoons Cane sugar
6 tablespoons Warm Water
2-3 tablespoons Lime juice
1 clove Garlic
Start by dissolving the cane sugar in the warm water by stirring well. Reheat the mixture if necessary to fully dissolve the sugar.
Finely chop the garlic and chili and add them to the sugar water.
Add the fish sauce and lime juice and mix everything well.
Taste the sauce and adjust the flavor to your preference: for more heat, add extra chili; for more saltiness, add more fish sauce; and for a fresher taste, add more lime juice.
For a thicker consistency of the sauce you can increase the amount of sugar slightly. This sauce is excellent for making in advance and can be stored in a sealed jar in the fridge.
