1 tablespoon cashews
1 tablespoon pine nuts
1 tablespoon sesame seeds
1 tablespoon chia seeds
2 tablespoons oats
1 tablespoon almond paste
1 tablespoon rice syrup or agave syrup

Preparation method

How do you make this?

Because Wim and I eat granola every morning and Grace sees me making it every day, she naturally wants to try it too. Kids are just like little monkeys who imitate everything. So together with her, I made an adapted recipe. Grace loves 'her' granola. Feel free to vary with soft nuts and seeds, but chop them finely. Now that Grace is a bit older, I also send granola to daycare as a healthy snack.

Preheat the oven to 170 °C.

Mix the cashews and pine nuts in the food processor and put them in a bowl.

Add the sesame seeds, chia seeds, and oats.

Mix together.

Add the almond paste and rice syrup or agave syrup.

Carefully mix everything or knead well together.

Place a sheet of baking paper on a baking tray and spread the mixture over it.

Bake for 10 minutes in the oven.

Let the granola cool and store it in a jar or sealed box.

Tips

Serve the granola with milk or yogurt and pieces of fresh fruit. I often give cashew nuts, dates, figs and plums as a healthy snack. The slow sugars give your toddler long -term, healthy energy.
