Granola for kids

Easy

Because Wim and I eat granola every morning and Grace sees me make it every day, she naturally wants to try it too. Children are like little monkeys that imitate everything. So, together with her, I made an adapted recipe. Grace loves 'her' granola. Vary with soft nuts and seeds to your heart's content, but chop them finely. Now that Grace is a bit older, I also send granola to daycare as a healthy snack.

Ingredients

What do you need?
Quantity: 8 toddler servings

1 tbsp cashews
1 tbsp pine nuts
1 tbsp sesame seeds
1 tbsp chia seeds
2 tbsp rolled oats
1 tbsp almond butter
1 tbsp rice syrup or agave syrup

1 tbsp cashews
1 tbsp pine nuts
1 tbsp sesame seeds
1 tbsp chia seeds
2 tbsp rolled oats
1 tbsp almond butter
1 tbsp rice syrup or agave syrup

Preparation method

How do you make this?

Preheat the oven to 170 °C.

Mix the cashews and pine nuts in the food processor and put them in a bowl.

Add the sesame seeds, chia seeds, and oats.

Mix together.

Add the almond paste and rice syrup or agave syrup.

Carefully mix everything or knead well together.

Place a sheet of baking paper on a baking tray and spread the mixture over it.

Bake for 10 minutes in the oven.

Let the granola cool and store it in a jar or sealed box.

Tips

  • Serve the granola with milk or yogurt and pieces of fresh fruit.
  • I often give cashews, dates, figs, and prunes as a healthy snack. The slow-release sugars provide your toddler with long-lasting, healthy energy.
